Edward Jones’ efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria earned a 100 percent ranking and the designation as one of the best places to work for LGBTQ+ Equality. This marks the sixth consecutive year the firm has received a perfect score.
Edward Jones offers domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive benefits and associate volunteer self-identification. The firm’s 800-plus strong LGBT+ and Allies Business Resource Group regularly meets to cultivate relationships, generate ideas and develop strategies to build and retain an inclusive workforce. The group also champions Edward Jones’ participation in, and sponsorship of, the St. Louis and Tempe Pride parades, as well as several local Pride events across the country. In the summer of 2020, Edward Jones announced its Five-Point Commitment to inclusion, equity and diversity.

The CEI rates employers providing these crucial protections to over 20 million U.S. workers and an additional 18 million abroad. Companies rated in the CEI include Fortune magazine’s 500 largest publicly traded businesses, American Lawyer magazine’s top 200 revenue-grossing law firms (AmLaw 200) and hundreds of publicly and privately held mid- to large-sized businesses.
The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is the educational arm of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) people. For the 12th time, Edward Jones Ranks “Highest in Employee Advisor Satisfaction Among Financial Investment Firms” by J.D. Power.
Based on responses from Edward Jones financial advisors, the firm earned an overall score of 890 points out of 1,000. This compared to the average score of 743 among the eight employee-channel firms measured by the J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Financial Advisor Satisfaction Study.

Between January and April 2021, financial advisors were asked to rate their firms in terms of leadership and culture, products and marketing, professional development, operational support, technology, and compensation. Edward Jones ranked No. 1 in products and marketing, compensation and professional development.

This year, 60 percent of each company’s score is based on confidential employee feedback. The remaining 40 percent is based on the programs each company said they created to support their people and communities in response to the pandemic. This methodology represents a change in response to the unique circumstances of 2020.

Since forming in Spring 2020, the Edward Jones Parental/COVID-19 Taskforce has acted as a key listening post and strategy team advocating for the needs of associates, their families and working in a remote environment. The 20-member taskforce, with representatives from multiple areas of the firm, has created critical policies, programs and solutions that provide support for navigating pandemic-related issues in five areas: workplace flexibility, time off, dependent care and educational support for children, health and wellness, and financial support.

Rankings are based primarily on parents’ scores of trust and fairness across the company culture, including levels of trust, pride, management effectiveness, innovation, diversity and equity. The analysis focused on how parents’ workplace experiences compare to those of their non-working colleagues and determining whether their job level, race/ethnicity or any personal characteristic changed the level of support they received as a working parent. Finally, each company’s parental leave, adoption, flexible schedule, childcare and dependent health care benefits were evaluated.

Among the categories measured, Edward Jones’ ranked highest in all of them, and a full 10 percentage points higher than the 2020 employee average.
